FARMING
INTRODUCTION:
I interviewed my uncle about farming and how early farming was; They were farming to eat and live and it
was so hard because they didn’t have tools to farm easily but nowadays it’s so
easy because of the technology.
Questions?
HOW
DID FARMING CHANGE YOU?
My
uncle used to be a farmer where he lived by hunting wild animals and seeding
plants. They were hunting by hawks (wild animals), to feed their families
because life wasn’t simple, Farming in that day meant that we didn’t have to
travel to find food. Instead, we began to live in settled communities.
WHAT
PLANTS DID YOU GROW?
We
used to plant a lot of things, such as wheat and barley and lentils and a lot
of things.
What
were the methods of farming?
We
used bulls to farm; we used to use a specific tool that we put on the bulls head
and we put the pills in the ground and the bull started to plow.
HOW DID YOU BECOME A BETTER FARMER?
I
have learned farming from my ancestors especially from my father who passed
away and we used new techniques to farm; these days there are a lot of ways to
grow plants. There was a well far away so we had to walk all the way and trade
with people who were responsible for the well with vegetables so we can get
fresh water.
How
big was your farm in those days?
We
didn’t know how to measure the distance but it took me almost half an hour to
go through the whole farm.
How
many people were working in your farm?
We
were approximately 10 people, me and your uncles.
